Cookies and similar storage

Cookies are small values stored by your browser. Similar technologies include local storage and session storage. These are different from data saved on our servers or ordinary network requests made when you visit a website.

Current production behavior

GA4 is disabled by default and inactive when unconfigured. Optional Google Analytics 4 loads only after explicit analytics consent and explicit service configuration. Before consent or after rejection, no GA4 script, request, cookie or event queue is created. Rejecting analytics does not block the core service.

Necessary sessionStorage holds one expiring price-check access capability. The same capability authorizes status and result reads for that price check. It is not an analytics identifier, and a result URL alone grants no access. Necessary storage cannot be disabled through Cookie preferences. First-party PostgreSQL service records process and measure requested price checks independently of optional analytics consent; these are not browser cookies.

Historical and development storage

An older version may have left hpc.cookie-consent in local storage. The current application neither reads nor updates it. It does not authorize tracking. The development demo uses hpc.scenario to remember a test scenario; production does not access that key. An unused sidebar component contains a functional cookie writer, but it is not mounted in the current public interface and is not an active production cookie.

Cookie preferences

Cookie preferences in the footer lets you accept or reject analytics, reopen your choice and withdraw consent. Neither option is preselected. The localStorage key staydeal.analytics-consent stores only your decision and consent-policy version, specific to this browser/device. It is not synchronized to our backend. A new consent-policy version requires a new consent decision; missing, invalid or inaccessible storage leaves analytics off. Withdrawal stops future collection, removes the script and best-effort removes the GA cookies this integration sets (_ga and the configured stream cookie). It cannot recall already transmitted data. Accepting again after withdrawal requires a page reload.

Optional analytics and affiliate scripts

If activated, GA4 may use analytics cookies and receive bounded aggregate events. StayDeal does not intentionally send booking URLs, capability tokens, exact trip criteria, hotel names or personally identifiable information (PII) to GA4. Automatic page, form and outbound collection must be disabled before activation. Optional affiliate scripts remain inactive and are separate from GA4; analytics consent does not authorize them. Outbound offer clicks do not prove bookings or commission. No analytics retention period is promised here; retention settings must be reviewed before activation.

Third-party resources and hosting

The site loads the Manrope font from Google Fonts through fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. These requests expose your IP address and browser request information to Google. A font request is not evidence that an analytics cookie is set. Hosting and network services may also process request metadata; this policy is not a claim that all technical processing or third-party requests are absent. Your browser controls and future changes

You can inspect, block or remove cookies and site storage through your browser settings. Removing browser data does not delete server-side price-check records. Contact the operator for a data-rights request. If additional optional tracking is introduced, the information here and the preferences control must be updated and a new consent decision requested before activation. Historical values will not be reused as authorization.
